I got this parka just prior to starting University of Alaska in Anchorage some ten years ago. In all the time since then, I have yet to feel really cold while wearing it and, despite heavy use in the Chugatch mountain range and way up in Denali, even been to Point Barrow a few times which is as far north as you can go, it has yet to show any signs of wear and tear. This jacket is extremely warm, yet never feels large or bulky and with the thigh length it gives just a very solid warm feeling. If anything this thing needs a heat warning! My basic rule is to not wear this parka unless it is at least 25F outside, any warmer and you are just asking to be baked. From 25F to 0F, a simple tee shirt and this parka, unzipped, is really all i need. Below 0 is where this coat really starts to come into it's own, all the way to -40 all I wear is a tee shirt, with sweatshirt, this parka zipped and I am left able to enjoy the winter. It is windproof and waterproof so laying down in the snow and making snow angles with the little kids is just plain fun. [en lire plus ]
From the windy low 40's to well below "0",this is a comfortable coat. I wore it in a Utah mountain blizzard with fur trimmed hood up and it was like being indoors. It looks great. I get a lot of compliments on it. When you pick it up you notice it's weight of 4lbs, but you don't feel that weight when you are wearing it. For a good fit you have to order it one size smaller than you normally order -- for me, a large instead of the x-large that I normally order. I got mine through the Amazon affiliate Altrec in Oregon. I am a huge Canada Goose fan and have other CG parkas that I love. I was thrilled to find this style in the color that I have been looking for, but am so extremely disappointed with it. I wear a women's size 4 in clothes, (usually a CG small or even XS) but ordered a women's size medium to accommodate extra layers. Even with just a t-shirt on under it, it was really tight across the back shoulders. There's no way I would be able to do anything active outside in this jacket with the way it fits. Also, just as disappointing, the sleeves have very little down (or any kind of filling)in them. They are less than half as thick as my other Canada Goose jackets' sleeves. They are extremely thin and wouldn't be at all warm. This whole jacket seemed really chintzy, not at all what I would expect from a true Canada Goose product. Either I was sent a counterfeit Canada Goose jacket or Canada Goose has produced a jacket that does not even come close to its usual incredibly high standards.
